January 2022 Ephemeris calculated at www.Astro.com It’s a very busy month to start off the New Year of 2022 so check it out... Astrology Vibe #1: Practical Capricorn momentum from the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Pluto and Juno We start off 2022 with a grouping or “stellium” of many planets plus 1 asteroid goddess in zodiac sign Capricorn. Fittingly, this suggests an influence of seeking practicality, responsibility, and organizing our lives. Capricorn dynamism energizes us to succeed and achieve goals. In typical nonconforming fashion, quick-witted Mercury moves into innovative Aquarius by the 2nd day of the new year. In place there’s a New Moon in Capricorn to again accentuate a grounded earth drive and “taking care of business” focus for the month. Venus in Capricorn is still retrograde giving us further time to review all matters regarding relationships, money and beautification. Luckily the forceful Venus conjunct Pluto connection is finally moving away from December’s tight orb of 1-2°. As Venus leaves the direct vigor of power planet Pluto, we should sense some relief from what may have felt like intensified love relations or finance matters last month. In lieu of Venus we’ll have the aptly timed asteroid goddess of marriage and business partnerships "Juno" continue a similar theme of relationships. We may pursue uniting with others as the Sun conjoins Juno closely while Juno also connects to Neptune in an opportunistic sextile. It's possible we’ll find ourselves searching for more idealism and wish to stretch beyond boundaries where partners are concerned. This pertains not only to romance but also to business associations, contracts, as well as deciding which companies to choose for investments. All the while our idealism and boundlessness may be tempered by the serious, dutiful and sobering Capricorn influence. We may recognize that much work and planning is required for us to benefit from promising partnerships. On or near January 24, planet Mars leaves Sagittarius to enter Capricorn. Freedom and adventure the archer zodiac sign symbolizes suggest our actions will then be further focused on practical matters in business and organization as influenced by Capricorn. Although retrograde Mercury in Capricorn will be exactly conjunct to Pluto on Friday, January 28 in US East Coast time, we’ll surely be thinking intensely and our words may prove equally as robust around this day. To wrap up January’s Capricorn stimulus, toward the month’s end Juno will conjoin Pluto. This indicates possible power struggles or power plays while we attempt to transform our most important partnerships whether personal, political, or corporate in nature. Astrology Vibe #2: We want to dream bigger with Jupiter now in domicile sign Pisces We might feel a sense of luck on our side just before January 1st as planet Jupiter re-enters Pisces on December 28 (in the US). Big dreams, hopes and beliefs for expanding our wealth and all life opportunities will likely be upper most and stirring in our souls. Initially Jupiter will be under a slight square aspect of tension to the North Node in Gemini and South Node in Sagittarius. These mutable signs may usher in a definitive sense that change is afoot. We may feel challenged to adjust our visions and dreams to realign with what’s true and real. Jupiter in Pisces encourages us to expand to higher wisdom, compassion, and universal love. Imagination, mysticism, vision and idealism are likely additional themes now surging to the forefront of society. Film, dance, television, oil, drugs, alcohol, oceans, and water become greater topics of interest. Colossal cosmic “God Father” Jupiter in its traditional celestial domicile of Pisces makes gigantic dreams seem even larger, if you can imagine that! This combo inspires a collective sensibility suggesting everyone should “go big”; that everything and anything is possible if faith is strong enough. It’s important to remember every planet has a positive and negative archetypal vibration. Even happy-go-lucky Jupiter has its down side: exaggeration and/or extravagance, such as boundlessly reaching and expanding beyond your limits. Sometimes Jupiter just doesn't know when to stop. To balance and temper Jupiter enthusiasm, it’s always a good idea to carefully consider all your financial moves and investments with the wisdom of Saturn. Also known as Cronus or "Father Time", and in mythology Jupiter’s Father, planet Saturn rewards patience, restraint and structure. One caveat to this we’re now encountering: Saturn is currently transiting through Aquarius, therefore being influenced by a zodiac constellation representing rebels, rebellions, and unconventional free thinkers. Right now, Saturn urges us to innovate more than usual. Jovial Jupiter just wants to have fun, bountiful blessings, and enjoy wealth with growth and expansion. This massive gas body doesn't support maintaining fiscal (or any kind of) discipline, especially while in Pisces. So again, I remind you, don’t totally rule out some Saturn restraint! Astrology Vibe #3: Mercury in Aquarius turns Retrograde on or around January 14 The exact time when our planet of messages, communications, local travel and transportation appears to move backward in the sky depends on where you live. In the horoscope this retrograde occurs precisely at 6:41 a.m. Eastern Time. It’s always a good idea to get any mechanical or technical troubles fixed before a Mercury retrograde transit begins. Backing up your hard drive is also advisable prior to this event. Trying to fix your car, automobile, computer or software problems during this 3-week phase sometimes results in unresolved issues that must be revisited again at a later date. You can read my previous post for tips on how to handle planetary retrogrades. Mercury will regress from Aquarius into Capricorn on or around January 25. We’ll likely read and hear lots of conversations in the news relating to society, humanitarianism, government, politics and business during this retrograde season. This transit would be a great time for President Biden and Congress to review the Build Back Better package and in typical retrograde fashion, “re-package” the contents. Perhaps by or before the US Pluto return in February there will be enough agreement to assure its successful vote and passage. Astrology Vibe #4: The True Nodal Axis shifts from Gemini/Sagittarius to Taurus/Scorpio On or around January 18 depending on where you reside, the True North Node begins a new cycle in zodiac sign Taurus. This major shift lasts until July 2023 and signals a time when we focus on Taurus and Venus type of issues such as relationships, money, art and beautification. Taurus is ruled by planet Venus, which rules money, love, art and beauty. It also rules what we attract or want to attract, what we earn, and what we value. Taurus energy is rooted, grounded, loyal, sensual as well as dogmatic, determined, and stubborn. (Remember, there are two sides to every sign and planet.) Taurus loves being surrounded by loveliness, luxury, and comfort. Art and fashion are businesses ruled by Venus. And yes, it takes money to enjoy all these. For this reason, expect the global stage emphasis to swing towards money, love, and all Venusian endeavors. Corresponding with the North Node in Taurus, the South Node enters Scorpio. Planet Pluto rules zodiac sign Scorpio, a sign that’s known to be somewhat suspicious or mistrustful of others. Scorpio vigor typically enjoys digging deeper, penetrating to uncover hidden secrets. An undertone of Scorpio and its guardian planet Pluto should inspire people to discreetly look beyond face values and delve underneath any superficial surfaces to unearth treasures and pleasures. Before humans learned of Pluto, the ancient ruler of Scorpio was Mars. Lord Mars oversees war, violence, anger, physical actions, metals, and blood. Understanding and releasing our past in these areas will be necessary in order to find new ways toward the peace, harmony and beauty that Venus desires. I suspect global financial matters will become more prominent and concerning with this Taurus/Scorpio Nodal Axis. Both of these signs coincidentally rule the financial based 2nd and 8th money houses in the zodiac wheel. Related topics sure to arise for the collective include how we earn money, pay our debts, handle insurance expenditures, and taxation issues. Expect these themes to resonate strongly as the year progresses. It’s quite extraordinary that the very same day the True North Node enters Taurus, planet Uranus also turns direct. Talk about synchronicity! It’s as if the universe is saying (or warning) we should now be on notice for sudden shock waves that will propel us toward future events. One last point regarding health: the South Node traveling through Scorpio may also suggest a possible reduction of deaths from the pandemic. But that might just be wishful thinking from joyful Jupiter in Pisces. Time will tell. Astrology Vibe #5: Dwarf planet Ceres travels alongside the North Node in Taurus As an added touch of cosmic infusion, almost like fairy dust, Ceres and the North Node are touring 28-29° Taurus together around the last week of January. Ceres represents Mother Earth from ecology to grains and food harvesting. The North Node signifies the direction our human evolutionary path wants to move toward and explore. This symbolism is rather remarkable, really. Just as the Nodal Axis moves into Earth and Water zodiac signs, Ceres is right there alongside with a complementary energy of ecological physicality. Will we manifest new visions to benefit planet Earth with nature as a primary consideration? This rare transit should remind us of environmental concerns as part of the larger discussions and stimulus being debated in Congress. In this short window of time there’s a certain nourishment of the soul and Earth that Ceres can activate and highlight for the world. Astrology Vibe #6: Venus travels in a close trine aspect to Uranus the last 9 days of January Although not “partile” and in “exact” connection, Venus will station at 11° Capricorn before finally turning direct after being retrograde since December 19. During this same time, Uranus will be progressing forward at 10° Taurus. When the planet of money, love and beauty (Venus) speaks to the planet of innovation, sudden surprises and revolution or vice versa, we can expect changes and shake ups in finances, relationships, and possibly even the geological Earth. Some may be totally unexpected. See the yellow highlights in the January 2022 ephemeris image for more details. Future vibrations for February: Importantly we’re inching closer to the much talked about first of what will be 3 exact conjunctions between transiting Pluto and the US natal Pluto. Astrologers call this the “US Pluto return”. Pluto is the planet of transformation, death, rebirth, regeneration, and is rarely easy to navigate. It is said for something to be reborn something first must die. Or we can liken this to one door must close before another can open. So, for this January and especially to those in the United States, I suggest you take the Taurus North Node bull by the horns. Plan and prepare yourself for some gut-level renovations in 2022. The Zodiac Signs are 12 specific constellations along our ecliptic belt where viewed from Earth we see the planets travel. All times stated are based on Eastern Time Zone. Planetary movements aside from the luminaries (Moon and Sun) can be felt days before and after their exact aspects. I interpret the sky using modern Tropical Western Astrology for insights. *The Moon Void-of-Course is a brief transitional interval when there are no major aspects between the Moon and other planets as La Luna leaves one zodiac sign for the next sequential sign. People often feel vague, unsure and clarity can be lacking during v/c periods. Activities you initiate (like scheduling appointments or making important decisions) will likely need to be redone, adjusted and/or course corrected once the Moon is in a new phase and no longer “void-of-course”. Monday, May 24 This week quietly begins with little action except for an extreme Scorpio Moon in brief early evening opposition to Uranus in Taurus and square Saturn in Aquarius. These 3 together make what’s called a T-square. You may feel challenged and called to make adjustments however these are fixed vitalities and any changes required now can seem hard and harsh. Tuesday, May 25 *Moon Void-of-Course @ 5:20 PM – 10:39 PM – Moon leaves intense Scorpio to enter sparkling Sagittarius Sagittarius makes us want to run farther and faster, especially as this sign is next in line for a Lunar Eclipse. |
