August 2022 Author Highlighted Ephemeris courtesy of Astro.com Geocosmic alignments influence global stock markets, consumer sentiments and world events. It’s valuable to remember the good advice from TV show “Lost” that people are always the variable.
This month feels electrifying with an extremely rare Mars-Uranus-North Node conjoining in zodiac sign Taurus as if on cue August 1st that’s sure to jolt and bolt us into action. (Check out the orange color highlights in the above Ephemeris picture.) We’ll be feeling this at a personal and collective level. The energy will reverberate for the first 10 days of August. In financial astrology Taurus represents money, finance, banks, currencies, and crypto (combined with Uranus). We’ll likely be bullish, rattled and/or trying to shake off any negative corporate earnings news delivered recently, especially during the last week of July. Uranus is a break-out energy and Mars invigorates us to take action. Whichever area 18° Taurus sits in your natal birth chart will also be lit up and energized for years to come. There are 12 houses (aka sectors) in the zodiac chart wheel. For me, Taurus will be in my 9th house of publishing, long distance travel, education and spirituality. I’m excitedly planning to write a book, teach, travel and of course, learn more. If we don’t have some huge catastrophic world event (such as a sudden escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war), it’s quite possible stock markets will experience a few weeks of “skyward trends” momentum. The North Node typically travels backward and remains at 18° to 17° Taurus most of August, while Uranus is slowing down stationing at 18° Taurus to then turn retrograde on August 24. These 2 are transiting closely together for a sustained time. That long North Node-Uranus conjunction is urging us to break out of ruts, doldrums, in favor of exhilarating innovation. It’s possible that when or after Uranus turns retrograde, we’ll see a reversal of the excitement and people (aka investors) might begin to have second thoughts about farfetched futuristic ideas. Prepare for lots of electricity in the air, talk about electric cars, revitalized money discussions, and a renewed sense that our future direction must be revolutionized with advanced technology. Coincidentally, Congress just officially passed the new “Chips Act” which President Biden will surely sign to bolster USA semiconductor production. Note to investors: CEO Patrick Gelsinger Intel Corporation ($INTC) has expressed during interviews he’s been waiting for this bill to pass so Intel can expand their new Ohio manufacturing facilities. We might rightly conclude semiconductor stocks will go “to the Moon” this month. If only Congress would continue to work rather than enjoy an August recess, the US might accomplish much more during what’s sure to be a stirring summer month. All the outer planets retrograde as August begins as highlighted in green on the above Ephemeris: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto. Astrologically this means it’s a great month for reviewing, revising, and redoing. When Uranus joins these others in retrograde, all the 5 planets as well as asteroid Chiron will be retracing their steps. This is a perfect time to realign and revamp whatever needs to be strengthened, including your investment portfolio. Making choices won’t necessarily be easy or long lasting due to the current cosmic climate. See my previous post about retrograde here for more understanding about this outer planet “retrograde season”. Voila! That’s the big picture for August. Some (but not all) additional finer points I marked on the Ephemeris:
August 2 – Venus at 18° Cancer sextiles Uranus and Mars. Our minds are focused on financial security and partnership or relationship matters. This transit provides an opportunity for liberation, but not without some potentially explosive surprises or taking action. Often changes can be good, even if we don’t realize it at the time. Be willing to come out of your shell. August 3 to 4 – Mercury enters Virgo. Mentally we are now seeking out details, being more analytical, and can be critically constructive. Remember, the lighthearted, playful spirit of Leo hasn’t fully left us yet since the Sun is still in Leo. However, our minds will be concentrating more on practical matters rather than simply basking in the sun’s rays and having fun. This bodes well for reassessing your financial portfolio, daily work routines, or communicating specifics with others. August 7 to 8 – Mars in Taurus squares Saturn in Aquarius (shaded in gray). This suggests we’ll be needing a serious reality check, maybe even to curtail our actions a bit. Mars wants to move but Saturn says stop, not so fast. Our past, present, and future are momentarily met with restrictions, limitations, frustrations, and some may even feel depressed. With this above alignment of Mars square Saturn, it’s possible the markets may cool off for a few days. Mars in hard aspect to Saturn can feel like you’re trying to push an immovable brick wall forward. It won’t budge. Heed the title lyrics of Kellee Patterson’s song, “If It Don’t Fit Don’t Force It”. August 8 to 9 – Venus in Cancer opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. Dynamic power struggles are a real threat here. During this brief transit we can feel emotionally insecure especially regarding money or love. Turning this energy into art, creativity or loving passion will manifest more positive outcomes. Companies selling home products, or real estate businesses and stocks may need juggling and rebalancing. August 11 – Sun in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus; Venus enters Leo; Mars in Taurus sextiles Neptune in Pisces; Full Moon at 19° Aquarius opposition Sun in Leo. It’s a huge day of multiple planetary alignments which I've shaded in peachy-pink. Here’s a tongue twister: say momentum 3 times fast (I’ll bet you can’t). Sun square Uranus suggests more cages are being rattled so doors open for freedom. Steer clear of excessive pride and ego maniacs if at all possible. Catching a few rays of sunshine may lighten the intensity. August 17 to 18 – Venus in Leo trines Jupiter in Aries. Supposedly one of the luckiest days of the year. (I’ll take that.) You might want to buy a few lottery tickets or visit a casino with this transit. Except for the Moon in Taurus squaring Saturn in Aquarius briefly on this Thursday, odds are in your favor for a joyful and positively expansive 2 days. The markets will be infused with a glowing Venus making love to a fiery Mars so they’re apt to take us higher as well. August 20 – Mars enters Gemini. Our actions may become duplicitous once Mars leaves stubborn money-minded Taurus for dualistic Gemini. It’s really good to look at which area of life Mars will now transit in both your natal and solar charts. More importantly, Mars remains in Gemini for an extended stay that cyclically occurs every 2 years – roughly every 26 months. Mars will retrograde while in Gemini starting October 30 and into 2023. As Gemini is a highly active mutable and changeable sign, stock market activity may now begin to show some divergence or reversals. August 22 – Sun enters Virgo. Joining Mercury influenced Mars in Gemini we now have the Sun connecting closer to Mercury, which is also ruled by Virgo. The Sun holds the key to wearing the crown. A lot of analytical thought and more fluctuating energy from Virgo suggests we’ll need fluidity as there are indeed likely changes afoot. It’s beneficial to remember: this is a mere 2 days before Uranus turns retrograde. August 25 – Mercury enters Libra. We may have a challenging time making up our minds with Mercury in this zodiac sign. Libra strives for balance, yet is constantly weighing the scales as thoughts float up, down or sideways. There may be sideways market movement as well during this interlude if investors aren’t sure of which direction to take or stocks to buy. August 26 to 28 – Venus in Leo square Uranus in Taurus (and Sun in Virgo square Mars in Gemini), New Moon at 4° Virgo, Venus in Leo opposition Saturn in Aquarius. The 90° angular fixed square alignments denote tensions could surround financials and technology companies along with decisive action that requires flexibility. Our emotions with a dark New Moon in Virgo can seem like a hyper-critical Debbie Downer. The Venus-Saturn opposition creates a dynamic T-square indicating serious money matters and structural reviews are in order. At this point renewed recession signals may start to flash a red light. That’s kind of a somber way to end August, but fear not. On September 1st, Mars in variety-loving Gemini sextiles spacious Jupiter in bold Aries. Opportunities await when we remain flexible and courageous. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, enjoy your hot August nights (shout out to Neil Diamond)! I've noticed this has been the hottest summer where I live in Pennsylvania since moving here in 2012. I think it's at least partly due to Jupiter now in first fire sign Aries, which always wants to be #1. p.s. note: all exact planetary transits and aspects are stated in current Eastern Time zone. Allow 1-5 days before or after to notice their energetic impact. The further the planet, the greater the orbit (aka orb) of influence. © 2022 by Trudy Carol

Author highlighted July 2022 Ephemeris used with permission by Astro.com July begins and ends with big bang punches. Firstly, on July 1 in the US, Mars in Aries forms a challenging 90° square to Pluto in Capricorn. Even before the month begins, we should expect added turbulence with the Moon in Cancer at the same angular square to Mars plus in opposition to Pluto. So, emotions can run high with forceful power struggles on both June 30 and July 1. Under these configurations, stock markets, governments and personal relationships will likely be heated with a buildup of tension. Mars in Aries is bold and courageous if not brazen while Pluto in Capricorn demands to control structures. At or near this time we may see more protests over lost abortion rights, or a flare up of the Russia-Ukraine war. If feeling any cosmic anger surging inside, look within to see how you can best control your own situation and individuality and seek to regain your power practically and peacefully in an organized manner. In spite of this Mars-Pluto turbulence, the July 1 Leo Moon is speaking in harmony with benefic planets in trine to Jupiter and sextile to Venus. The Moon’s domain is overseeing people, public relations and our emotional moods. The markets may ultimately bust out to the upside to start the month on a positive note. Luckily most of July is relatively calm and status quo without any major upsetting geocosmic whammies. July 4 to July 5 depending on which US coast you live Mars enters Taurus and Mercury enters Cancer. This suggests our actions will become more laser focused on money and values with our thoughts and communications centered on family and security. Cybersecurity and financial stocks might be auspicious investments at this time. Outer planets Saturn, Neptune and Pluto continue to hum along in apparent retrograde motion. As these are slower transits, they afford us ample time to review our daily life structures (Saturn), imaginative visions or deceit (Neptune) and ability to siege power (Pluto). For investments, Saturn in Aquarius reflects limits or restrictions in technology, Neptune in Pisces relates to expansion of liquids like crude oil, and Pluto in Capricorn is all about the government. Poignant timing regarding Neptune and deception: on June 28 the very same day as Neptune turned retrograde, we learned Ernst & Young received a $100 million government fine for its auditors cheating on ethics exams. How about that for a Neptune re-examination! Speaking about Neptune as the planetary ruler of crude oil, here’s a brief comparison for past and future price forecasting. Back on April 12, 2022 Jupiter conjoined Neptune in Pisces which inferred a peak period for oil and gas prices. Even since Jupiter entered Aries, oil and gas prices continue to hover around similar highs. It’s interesting to note that in a heliocentric chart (planets viewed from the Sun rather than Earth) Pisces co-rulers Jupiter and Neptune are still conjunct (see picture below). This is a good rationale explaining why oil and gas prices are still high. However, on July 1 in the helio chart, Jupiter at 25° Pisces is conjoined but beginning to separate from Neptune at 23° Pisces. By July 31, heliocentric Jupiter will be at 28° Pisces inching closer toward zodiac sign Aries. On August 17 helio Jupiter will finally enter Aries. It’s my astrological forecast and hope that gas and oil prices will reflect this significant movement so we'll see lower prices at the pump. July 1, 2022 Heliocentric Chart created using Astro.com Wednesday, July 13 a Full Moon at 21° Capricorn activates the ongoing USA Pluto return, an extended transit that’s been wreaking havoc with the US markets and economy. Coincidentally this is the same day that our latest Consumer Price Index numbers will be announced. Frankly due to the timing and aspects, I don’t expect we’ll get significant good news. Batten down the hatches. This Full Moon period also combines with Venus (money) in Gemini (communications, travel) in a provoking square to Neptune in Pisces (oil, deception). A difficult Venus-Neptune combo typically results in disillusion and unanticipated spending. I personally have had car problems with unexpected needed repairs during this kind of geocosmic meetup. Loving and money-minded Venus joins Mercury in Cancer on Sunday, July 17 adding a tender touch and infusion toward creature comforts like food and home. However quickly on July 19, Mercury moves into “stroke me” Leo saying buh-bye to Venus. On the same day Chiron in Aries turns retrograde reminding us to reconsider self and make time to heal wherever we’re feeling wounded. One added spoiler alert during July 17 to July 19 is dwarf planet Ceres in Cancer opposite Pluto in Capricorn. Ceres signifies the environment as “Earth Mother” along with food and grains. We might see some pronounced global issues surrounding farming, food distribution, or other ecological woes cropping up, so to speak. Ironically, we shouldn’t underestimate the full strength of the Sun in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn also exact on July 19. The Sun indicates our life force energy and this aspect with Pluto is a head-on culminating meeting for the year about control and achieving power. All this collective mid-month activity will no doubt be intense. You may prefer retreating like a crab into your shell rather than deal with hard core authority figures. In the northern hemisphere temperatures will flare as the Sun enters its home sign Leo on July 22 in closely followed by Ceres entering Leo on July 23. With this conjunction of a hot Sun burning bright on “Earth Mother” Ceres one might imagine a start to another fire season or other similar fiery natural disaster(s) on the horizon. Immediately following this pairing Juno turns retrograde signifying a good time to review all personal and business partnerships. The last four days of July are jampacked with astrological action, coincidentally right around when the Federal Reserve meets and is expected to raise interest rates again. Also, on July 28 the second-quarter GDP estimate will be announced. July 28 has a proud Leo New Moon timed with Jupiter turning retrograde and Mercury in square angle to Uranus. As they say, timing is everything! On July 30 to July 31 Mercury in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius. This kind of sky symbolizes news and communications from those in leadership positions that the economic business cycle has reached a stressful breaking point. Trading and investing in the markets will surely test your patience now. In particular, Jupiter turning retrograde might foretell a reversal of expansion. Think of it like a car speeding along then coming to a road block where cops signal you must now cruise away in reverse. It’s a good time to reallocate your portfolio and stock holdings, regroup or firm up any travel arrangements that previously went awry or are still pending. Whatever rattling these combined cyclical movements may trigger, their relevant shift is transitory and carry less impact compared to the bigger sky event of Mars conjunct Uranus and North Node event exact July 31 to August 1. These three dynamisms joining together highlight one of the most powerful thunderbolts of 2022 that will likely send shockwaves around the entire world and awaken our future. Exactly what that is, I can’t say. Odds are it will somehow involve the realm of finance since Mars, Uranus and the North Node will all conjoin in money and true bull sign Taurus. I’d wager banking, currencies, financial markets, crypto, or all the above will become electrified with surprising upsets. Mars equates with action, anger and aggression while Uranus accentuates freedom and rebellion. The North Node represents the human collective so everyone should feel this energy unfold one way or another, whether as a personal event, or public media story. Mars and Uranus aligned together especially by conjunction, square or opposition often foreshadows large earthquakes or volcanic disruptions. Especially with them meeting now in Earth sign Taurus it can also manifest and result in newsworthy events. If you live near the Ring of Fire or other hot spots, have an organized earthquake kit and evacuation plan ready. As we end July, please stay safe with mindful positive intent, and remember to drive carefully with focus! Important note: While astrology reveals sky influences over consumer sentiment and market trends, people are always the variable. Free will and every choice we make allows us to transform our destiny in different ways. This is why astrological forecasting does not guarantee 100% accurate predictions. © 2022 Trudy Carol Author highlighted June 2022 Ephemeris used with permission by Astro.com Note: While astrology reveals sky influences over consumer sentiment and market trends, people are always the variable. Free will and every choice we make allows us to transform our destiny in different ways. This is why astrological forecasting does not guarantee 100% accurate predictions. In general, June should be a milder month than what we saw during the mayhem of eclipse season plus ingresses of Venus, Jupiter and Mars in Aries. The May 30th New Moon at 9° Gemini launches a period of curiosity, more active communications, commerce, short trips, and attention on news and media. Gemini ruled by Mercury can be an information hound so we’ll be seeking and processing lots of data. There will be more Gemini dynamism shortly following as we journey through June. Mars and Jupiter both firmly entrenched in Aries can continue to heat up issues like inflation and war. Mars in its home zodiac sign may have the advantage. It’s a great energy for impetus to take actions but it can also fuel anger if we’re not self-aware. Feisty and fiery Mars vigor sitting alongside Jupiter is like throwing rapid punches to a much larger opponent. Mars is rocky and crusty while Jupiter is a gas giant that may not feel knocked out. Inflation falls under Jupiter’s realm. With Mars we’re trying to hit inflation hard but with Jupiter the blows land on what seems like an impenetrable hologram. There’s not a lot of outer planet transit activity in June. Below by dates are the monthly highlights. Use a window of about three days before or after the exact aspect dates to see what transpires both personally and in the markets. Tropical geocentric astrology calculates geometry like 90° square angles which represent tension and advises that adjustments be made. June 3 – 4: From the start of the month, we’ll feel two big shifts. Mercury turns direct (hallelujah!) on Friday, June 3rd and then Saturn turns retrograde on Saturday, June 4th. It’s reasonable to expect these directional changes to influence the markets. We’ll gain mental clarity with Mercury in apparent forward motion and then want to reevaluate our structures, plans and positions while Saturn is retrograde. Saturn appears retrograde until October 22 – 23. It might take that long in the US to see full financial ramifications from our current inflationary predicament and how we fare after the Fed raises interest rates. June 4 – 5: Mars in Aries square to Ceres in Cancer. This suggests actions and/or anger in the home, homeland or on Earth. Ceres is known as the “Earth Mother” dwarf planet. News of a big earthquake or other geologic events are possibly triggered by this kind of transit. I wouldn’t rule out aggravation with the Russia-Ukraine war or oil, gas and food issues either. June 11: Venus is conjunct Uranus in Taurus. Venus rules finances, currencies, banking, plus relationships and the arts. Uranus signifies unexpected surprises and shocking events that occur in a flash like a lightning bolt. We might certainly be in for market upsets within the two days before June 9 and/or June 10. As an example, on May 18 Reuters reported three local banks in China have frozen deposits to companies and individuals and we best hope this kind of problem doesn’t escalate any further. Some larger banks in China have warned demand is shrinking and continuing supply disruptions. One real possibility from a Venus-Uranus conjunction in Taurus is problems like these causing shocks to financial systems beyond China. June 13 – 14: On Monday Mercury re-enters Gemini as it moves forward retracing old ground; then a Tuesday Full Moon at 23° Sagittarius greets us with truths we may not be ready to handle. Emotions will be heightened on the US Flag Day when the Federal Reserve meets. Since this Full Moon is square to Neptune, idealism, hopes, visions, and dreams will be challenged. I expect extreme market turbulence under this influence to include fear and confusion even as early as Monday while everyone waits to hear and see what the Fed will say and do next. President Biden plans to meet with Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to address his concerns about inflation. Will a 75-basis point rate hike be considered? That could prove to be a Venus-Uranus shocker! June 15: Mars is conjunct Chiron in Aries. Any kinds of wounds whether personal or for the collective may become sensitive sore spots and feel inflamed when Mars conjoins and asserts its energy directly on tender Chiron. Healing is another keyword. How do you spell relief? (Hint: Like the commercial, Rolaids may not do the trick!) Today coincides with a Federal Reserve meeting and the next Economic Projections Report. I’m forecasting that with this aspect their analysis won’t deliver a positive outlook like when Fed Chairman Powell insisted inflation was transitory. I think this week could be a rougher ride for stock market traders and investors. June 16 – 18: Sun in Gemini is square Neptune in Pisces. Luminary Sun will now shine its light on all the confusion (and delusion) we experienced earlier in the week. Simultaneously on June 16 planet Venus conjoins the North Node accenting needed clarity for our future financial direction. On June 18 Venus is square Saturn in Aquarius symbolizing societal tensions and lessons learned where money is involved. This is characteristic of taking responsibility and facing unpleasant harsh realities, especially where money (Venus) is concerned. June 19 – 20: Venus briefly conjoins notorious Fixed Star Algol at 26° Taurus which relates to negative experiences. Again, this is a clue the markets aren’t going to like the Fed’s medicine. Per student Dawn Glinski on the Kepler College website, “Algol is associated with pain, suffering, violence, difficult and emotionally intense experiences, beheadings, accidents to the head, losing one’s head (mentally) and has been historically linked with murderous acts, disastrous events, and anything horrific. People are advised to be cautious when personal planets are transiting over Algol, and when natal planets are with in close proximity to her, (conjunction) it is viewed to be an unlucky and troublesome placement.” Because of the volatile nature of Algol, this might also be a key indicator relating to events unfolding in the Russia-Ukraine war. June 21 – 23: Summer Solstice for the northern hemisphere with the Sun ingress into Cancer followed by Venus entering Gemini hopefully ushers in lighter times. This suggests a better week for worldwide markets and stocks with less explosiveness and more convivial momentum. Additionally, a new larger transit that may be a market timing trend occurs around June 22 – 23 when Mars in Aries reaches within 30° of the North Node according to Anthony Of Boston’s book, “The Mars Hypothesis”. I’m curious and will be watching this closely. It’s the first instance since learning about this book for me to personally observe and test the author’s hypothesis in action. More on Mars: In Traditional (aka “Classical” or “Hellenistic”) Astrology, Mars is considered a malefic (evil, bad) planet, especially for mundane world events. Modern “psychological” astrologers prefer to give individuals self-will and propose there are good and bad possibilities for all planets. With self-awareness we can redirect and harness assertive Mars influences for brave and bold action rather than impassioned arguments, aggression or war. As Mars in Aries moves closer to the North Node, future directions for the human collective will be amplified. We can have further indications about which way the markets are headed for the rest of 2022, whether up or down. Things and people could become more hostile than usual. The same is true of financial markets. But it could also be a time marking courage which we may all need to get through the difficulties of inflation and higher interest rates, not to mention the war in Ukraine and other senseless killings by individuals with guns. With Venus also entering Gemini on June 22, more monies may be spent on lighter entertainment while more trips and social media activity ensues. In the US a busy holiday travel season is finally here. Airline, cruise, and hotel sectors plus stocks like Airbnb ($ABNB), Hertz ($HTZ), and Avis Budget Group ($CAR) might benefit from this short-term trend. The Sun entrenched in Cancer specifies security, comfort, family and nurturing. Investments that spotlight and solidify these values will be uppermost on our minds and perhaps in our portfolios too. June 28: Neptune in Pisces turns retrograde the same day as a New Moon at 7° Cancer. This is a great time to review what we dream and imagine most for home and hearth. Tending to family needs and loving relationships will feel nurturing. The Cancer Sun will also square Jupiter in Aries, alluding to potential financial excesses to ensure those family desires are met. Mars is often impulsive and can fan the flames of extravagance while sharing this space with Jupiter. Of course, temptation to splurge beyond your budget is not advised. Maybe in spite of seeing how costly inflation has become we’re ignoring and boldly reaching into our wallets anyway. Be mindful that Neptune retrograde implies a meandering sense of confusion, delusion, illusion, and sometimes self-deception. June 30: Mercury now moving quickly through Gemini leaves its tour within 30° of the North Node of Taurus. By now we should have gained greater clarity surrounding personal, money and market matters. Clear headed and better able to use all the information gathered during the latest eclipses and Mercury retrograde, we can move forward with more confidence. Wherever you are this June and however you spend it, I wish you a wonderful season. © 2022 Trudy Carol |
